I serve on the Board of Shake-A-Leg Miami, an organization that provides water sports access to people of all abilities in a fully integrated environment. I am also a Guardian ad Litem in the 11th Judicial Circuit Court - serving as a voice in court for abused and neglected children. The people of Haiti have forever left their footprint on my soul. I was part of a Marlins contingent that traveled with Food for the Poor to witness firsthand the devastation left by the 2010 earthquake. Upon our return, I oversaw the Homes for Haiti awareness campaign, which resulted in the construction of Inspiration Village in northeast Haiti near Malfety. Inspiration Village features 52 homes, a community center and a water purification system. I also have a passion for the those who served and are currently serving our country in the military. Their dedication to the protection of freedom is something I don't take for granted, and I try to seize every opportunity to show my gratitude.
