Philosophy:

Though Andrew Bone, M.D. was born near Cambridge, England, he has lived in Michigan since his early teens and was educated here - attending Wayne State University for both his undergraduate and medical degrees. After completing his residency in Grand Rapids at St. Mary's Hospital, Dr. Bone earned board certification and opened his own private practice in Caledonia, Michigan where he practiced family medicine for five years before joining the Family Practice Center at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland as family practitioner and faculty member. Family practice has been a passion for Dr. Bone since college, where he began forging his career path in medicine. "I enjoy the variety of health care issues and the opportunity to be an advocate for patients," he says. Dr. Bone particularly enjoys obstretrics. And he holds a special place in his heart for athletes and sports medicine, having served as a team physician. Dr. Bone's wife, Yolanda, is also a physician, practicing part time at the MidMichigan Urgent Care in Midland while raising their two children. The couple enjoys traveling, especially to visit family in Hawaii and England. Dr. Bone enjoys photography and would like to get back to choral singing, something he has done since singing in the cathedral choir in his home town in England. "We're really happy to be in Midland," Dr. Bone says. "After living in a rural part of Grand Rapids, Midland seems like more of a city. It has so much to offer." As a plus, his parents live here, bringing him closer to family.
