Superior Performance of duty while serving as an ammunition technician for 3D Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, during the battalion's combined arms training exercise at the Marine Corps Air grounds Training Center from 25 April to 10 May 2004. Lance Corporal Choi was instrumental in assisting the Battalion Ammo Chief with all issues relating to the transportation. handling, storage, security, and turn-in of ammunition drawn for the training exercise. Over the course of the exercises, he assisted in the execution of three distinct Battalion level draws, ammo pre-stage, for 25 separate company exercises, and the supervision of a 10 man guard detail. His dedication to duty was measured by the long hours spent carefully completing his assigned tasks, without regards to sleep, environmental conditions, or difficulty. Lance Corporal Choi's dedication to duty reflected great credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.

Professional Achievement in the superior performance of duties while serving as a member of the Logistics Operations Center, Headquarters and Service Company, 3D Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division from 7 November to 20 November 2004. During Operation Phantom Fury, Corporal Choi distinguished himself with exceptional skill in planning and monitoring ammunition consumption and resupply during combat operations. A one-man show, Corporal Choi masterfully ensured that the Battalion never went without vital ammunition, enabling the Battalion to continue fighting insurgent forces. In addition to supporting a 1500-man task force, Corporal Choi's dedication to duty and superb efforts reflected credit upon him and were with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.

During his period, Sergeant Choi performed his duty in an exemplary manner. He supervised the issue, recovery, recording, and expenditure reporting of over six million rounds, totaling over 1.5 Million dollars worth of munitions. Sergeant Choi's hard work ethic and dedication to duty allowed for mission accomplishment without any interruptions or delay of recruit training and sustainment rifle and pistol ranges aboard Edson Range. Sergeant Choi demonstrated superior MOS proficiency as he developed procedures that significantly improve the requisitioning and forecasting of ammunition through Tamis-R tracking system. In addition, Sergeant Choi's outstanding leadership and dedication to his Marines enabled the section to maintain a physical conditioning program which improved morale and cohesion within the section. Sergeant Choi's initiative, perseverance, and total dedication to duty reflected great credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service
