Humanism in Medicine Career Award
American Association of Medical Colleges
First awardee by the American Association of Medical Colleges and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Presented at AAMC banquet for Deans and national executive committee at the national meeting. They produced a very nice video introduction, brought me up on stage, gave me a crystal trophy, but didn't want to hear about what it's like to practice humanism for families affected by substance abuse, domestic violence, mental illness, and unsupported teen parenting. I still have the outline of remarks I'd hoped to present. Interesting.
