Philosophy:
Dr. Andrew D. Pearle is an Assistant Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery, specializing in Sports Medicine. He is an Assistant Team Physician for the New York Mets. Dr. Pearle has a deep interest in applying computer assisted surgical techniques to promote more accurate and minimally invasive surgery. He received an OREF Career Development Award to study computer assisted techniques in trauma, joint replacement, and sports medicine. With the support of this award, Dr. Pearle worked at institutions pioneering computer assisted surgery in Switzerland, France, Germany, and Israel. Dr. Pearle founded and is the Clinical Director of the HSS Computer Assisted Surgery (CAS) Center, established to coordinate the development and application of surgical navigation and medical robotics in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Pearle's clinical interests include arthroscopic and computer aided surgery of the shoulder, knee, and ankle.
