I believe in personalized care. Everyone uses their eyes differently and has different demands on their visual system. The best way to help each patient is to take the time to ask questions about his or her experiences. I also strongly believe that everyone should have an eye exam annually, even if there are no changes in vision. Many eye diseases do not have symptoms until they are advanced. I encourage my patients to ask questions and want them to have an active role in their care.
