Compositions for platelet rich plasma (PRP) and neutrophil-depleted PRP are provided. Methods for treating ischemia damaged tissues by delivering a PRP composition, in some embodiments a neutrophil-depleted PRP composition to the damaged tissue are provided. In some variations, the compositions may be useful to treat ischemic heart disease and repair damaged cardiovascular tissue following acute myocardial infarction including congestive heart failure.
