Rahul Shrivastav - Gainesville FL, US
Alice E. Holmes - Gainesville FL, US
International Classification:
H04R 29/00
US Classification:
381 58
Abstract:
A tuning system for tuning a speech recognition system includes a transmitter for sending a user response to a speech recognition system. The user response is based at least in part on a test stimulus that may be generated by the control system. A receiver receives a recognized response from the speech recognition system; this recognized response is based at least in part on the associated user response. An adjustment module adjusts at least one parameter of the speech recognition system based at least in part on at least one of the test stimulus, the associated user response, and the recognized response.

Systems And Methods For Remotely Tuning Hearing Devices

Systems And Methods For Remotely Tuning Hearing Devices

US Patent:
2010023, Sep 16, 2010
Filed:
Mar 29, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/748819
Inventors:
Lee S. Krause - Indialantic FL, US
Rahul Shrivastav - Gainesville FL, US
Bonny Banerjee - Palm Bay FL, US
Alice E. Holmes - Gainesville FL, US
International Classification:
H04R 29/00
US Classification:
381 60
Abstract:
A method of tuning a hearing device includes sending a test signal to a model of a hearing device that may be remote from the actual hearing device being tuned. The test signal is encoded by the model and sent to the hearing device being tuned. The user of that hearing device sends a response signal based at least in part on the encoded test signal. This response is received and compared to the original test signal. Thereafter, an operational parameter is sent to the hearing device based on the comparison.

System And Methods Of Subject Classification Based On Assessed Hearing Capabilities

US Patent:
2010005, Mar 4, 2010
Filed:
Aug 29, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/201598
Inventors:
Bonny Banerjee - Palm Bay FL, US
Lee Stanley Krause - Indialantic FL, US
Alice Holmes - Gainesville FL, US
Rahul Shrivastav - Gainesville FL, US
Assignee:
UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA RESEARCH FOUNDATION, INC. - GAINESVILLE FL
AUDIGENCE, INC. - MELBOURNE FL
International Classification:
A61B 5/00
US Classification:
600559
Abstract:
A method of assessing hearing characteristics of a subject is provided. The method includes determining a hearing capability of the subject based on responses of the subject to a series of sounds presented to the subject. Each sound corresponds to a presence, absence or irrelevance of a predetermined plurality of features. The method further includes assigning the subject to one of a predetermined plurality of classes based upon the responses of the subject, each of the plurality of classes being derived from hearing tests performed on a plurality of other subjects.
