I have a long list of life experience that is not directly related to Nursing; although, nursing has been my primary profession for the past 20+ years...., I shall list all other occupations/ advocations that may be helpful in my search and or prospective employers viewing this.<br/>1.) 10-12 years old..., hunted nightcrawlers ( fishbait) for the loval baitshop with a friend and coould bring in $30.-$40 on a good night.<br/>2.) Started bailing hay as a 14 year old boy. Rectangular bailer.<br/>3.) 16 yrs old, began working at Casey Nursing Home ( now Hearrland Manor: see above). Went to work there with two of my male friends. This was before direct care staff had to be certified, etc. We worked as orderlies doing direct resident care ( no universal precautions in those days..., gloves were sometimes a luxury).<br/>4.) 17 yrs old, nearly 18..., parents signed consent foe U.S. Army enlistment. Old football injury exacerbated during basic training and I was released with an honorable discharge, medical reasons; as if I'd stayed in my M.O.S. would have been changed.<br/>5.) 18 yrs old..., worked at Reasor Corp. Building modular homes on a line. <br/> Primary Duties were drywall hanging any finishing. Other experience at this employer <br/> Include:<br/> A.) framing<br/> B.) assist licensed electrician wire residential modular unit and test same.<br/> C.) radial arm saw cutting production of bulk lumber according to assigned list per <br/> spefications of length and angles.<br/> D.) Sheetmetal, use of box and break and shears...., fabrication of heating ducts<br/>6.) Auto parts counterperson<br/>7.) Foundry worker. Ground metal from castings. Ground bondo from castings prior to<br/> painting.<br/>8.) Small truck farm chemical delivery<br/>9.) Began nursing education and career.
