Philosophy:
An initial evaluation includes obtaining a family history and a history of the behavioral problem (including its origin or onset, its impact on the family and the child, previous professional evaluations and attempted treatments and developing a working hypothesis and strategy. An attempt is made at this time to distinguish the mix of willful and innate causes. Occasionally, medical or psychological testing may be necessary. The process is shortened by providing complete information on forms available on Dr. Davick's website and by bringing to the consultation copies of any important evaluations previously performed. Evaluations are scheduled in increments of 40 minutes on any given day and begin and end promptly at scheduled times. Arriving late necessarily shortens the session and may result in its rescheduling.
