I practice a Cognitive-Behavioral perspective & believe individuals are trying to care for themselves the best way they can, but certain coping skills that may have been useful in the past are no longer effective. Growth is promoted by identifying/challenging ineffective thought patterns & behaviors & developing new perspectives & adaptive coping.
