Philosophy:
At North Georgia Nephrology Consultants, our goals are early detection of CKD, preventing/slowing its progression to end-stage kidney disease and avoiding dialysis. We believe that patient empowerment and team work are essential elements of achieving these goals. Patients are educated about CKD and lifestyle modifications that prevent CKD progression. We understand that without the patients' help, any intervention we do will fail; hence, we constantly work with patients in coming up with a treatment regimen that is meaningful to both physicians and patients. We communicate with all referring physicians to ensure continuity of quality patient care.
When dialysis cannot be avoided. patients can pick among different dialysis modalities that are offered. We work together with different dialysis units in Athens, Monroe, Royston and Loganville and will be happy to refer patients to a center that is most convenient to them.
