Interactivity With A Bus Interface Card

US Patent:
7869385, Jan 11, 2011
Filed:
Oct 31, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/931486
Inventors:
James V. Leonard - St. Charles MO, US
Robert K. Menzel - Lake St. Louis MO, US
Richard E. Meyer - Florissant MO, US
Aaron L. Eggemeyer - Chester IL, US
William J. Ebert - Kirkwood MO, US
Assignee:
The Boeing Company - Chicago IL
International Classification:
H04L 12/28, H04L 12/40, G01C 23/00, B60G 23/00, B60G 17/018
US Classification:
370257, 370423, 370438, 701 3, 701 14, 701 29
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for testing the bus interface assembly in order to determine if the bus interface assembly is configured to interface with a data bus between an aircraft and a store. If the bus interface assembly is determined not to be properly configured, a troubleshooting routine can be deployed to more specifically identify a malfunction of the bus interface assembly, thereby facilitating the repair of the bus interface assembly. Moreover, the system and method may also program the bus interface assembly. By providing the capability to test and troubleshoot and, in some instances, program the bus interface assembly, the bus interface assembly may be more readily deployed and the performance of the bus interface assembly may be assured, thereby promoting the reliability of the bus interface assembly and the associated communications transferred across the data bus between the aircraft and the store.

Standoff Land Attack-Expanded Response Device Computer

US Patent:
2005022, Oct 13, 2005
Filed:
Mar 9, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/796218
Inventors:
Aaron Eggemeyer - Chester IL, US
James Leonard - St. Charles MO, US
Robert Menzel - Lake Saint Louis MO, US
Richard Meyer - Florissant MO, US
International Classification:
B64D001/04
US Classification:
089001110
Abstract:
A system for an aircraft that includes an attachment point for a store and a data management system that communicates data amongst a plurality of mobile platform systems and an operator. The data management system includes a docking station and a data link operatively associated with the attachment point thereby allowing the store and at least one of the mobile platform systems to communicate. The system includes a circuit that docks to the docking station and includes an input, a first data port, and a second data port. The circuit accepts operator commands via the input and sends commands to the data link, and to the store, based on the inputs via the second data port. Additionally, the circuit accepts imaging from the store via the second data port.

Methods And Apparatus For Testing And Diagnosis Of Weapon Control Systems

US Patent:
2005008, Apr 21, 2005
Filed:
Aug 13, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/640865
Inventors:
James Leonard - St. Charles MO, US
William Ebert - Kirkwood MO, US
Aaron Eggemeyer - Chester IL, US
Richard Meyer - Florissant MO, US
Bobby Wilson - Florissant MO, US
International Classification:
F41G003/00
US Classification:
102288000
Abstract:
Methods and systems for testing and diagnosis of weapon control systems are disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus for testing a weapon control system includes an interface unit and a simulator unit. The interface unit is adapted to be operatively coupled to the weapon control system, and the simulator unit is operatively coupled to the interface unit. The simulator unit receives and analyzes a control signal, and transmits at least one of a first type of responsive signal indicative of a properly functioning component, and a second type of responsive signal indicative of a malfunctioning component.

Missile Simulator

US Patent:
2010020, Aug 19, 2010
Filed:
Feb 19, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/388778
Inventors:
James Victor Leonard - Charles MO, US
Robert Kastner Menzel - Lake Saint Louis MO, US
Richard E. Meyer - Florissant MO, US
Aaron L. Eggemeyer - Chester IL, US
Joshua Ryan Pollema - Saint Peters MO, US
International Classification:
F41A 33/00, F41G 9/00
US Classification:
434 12, 434 14
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for simulating a missile. A simulation program for a weapon using a processor unit is executed in a simulation unit. A number of input signals is received from a control station in a vehicle through an interface system connected to a weapons interface on the vehicle. The interface system is in communications with the processor unit. The control station is capable of operating the weapon connected to the weapons interface. A number of output signals is generated using a simulation of the weapon. The number of output signals is sent through the weapons interface to the control station.
