Skills:
Skills, Interests, and Certifications: I am very adept at photography, both film and digital, including: 35mm (and DSLR), medium-format, cyanotype and daguerrotype, 4x5, and wet processing. I am skilled in studio lighting using strobes and speedlights, and in low-light photography via long exposure and "light painting". I have a wealth of experience in screen-printing. I can deftly produce screens by hand, but I am also quite familiar with the photo-emulsion method. In addition to my aforementioned artistic interests, I also paint, draw, practice calligraphy and ink wash. I am familiar with both Windows and MacOS. I am competent in a variety of imaging and word-processing software, and am most comfortable with the following programs: Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, Corel Draw, Microsoft Word, and Excel. I speak a decent amount of German, albeit with a heavy Berlin accent. I can read, write, and speak (to some degree) Modern Standard Arabic. I also studied ecclesiastical and classical Latin for several years, though I was considerably younger and most of what I have retained serves to bolster my comprehension of English, and little more. I am an avid student of philosophy. I enjoy sentential logic, and I am particularly fascinated with eighteenth and early nineteenth-century German metaphysics. I have practiced martial arts for over twenty years. I hold a second-degree black belt in American kenpo karate. I also hold an honorary "master's rank" in an obscure form of Southern Shaolin wushu, which qualifies me to teach. I have also studied modern arnis, jujitsu, and krav maga. I have competed in numerous events, and most recently placed third in a full-contact multidisciplinary tournament. I once met Chuck Norris. I am also a musician. I play guitar and banjo, and I sing. I also record and produce, and I spent time as a DJ in various Florida nightclubs. I thoroughly enjoy literature, fiction and otherwise, and I am a compulsive writer. Two of my scholarly essays were published in an academic journal while in college, and I have been working on a novel for over a decade. I am a competent bartender (I wield a vast repertoire of pre-prohibition libations), and I have valid ABC certification in Delaware. I enjoy studying theology, and am an ordained reverend in the Universal Life Church of Christ.
