Electrosurgical Instrument With Electrical Contacts Between The Probe And The Probe Holder

US Patent:
4911159, Mar 27, 1990
Filed:
Nov 21, 1988
Appl. No.:
7/274497
Inventors:
Jeffrey W. Johnson - Houston TX
Gerald W. Johnson - Houston TX
International Classification:
A61B 1736
US Classification:
606 37
Abstract:
An electrosurgical apparatus comprises an electrosurgical generator for producing cutting and coagulation signals and has either pedal operated or hand operated switches for switching on and off and between cutting and coagulation signals. A cutting and coagulation probe is energized by the generator and has a handle portion and a probe element. An on/off switch controls energization of the probe element. A switch is operated to switch the probe element between the cutting current and coagulation current. A holder member removably supports the probe element and has an electric socket therein. The probe element is removably supported in the holder member and has an electric connector cooperable with the holder member socket to complete an electric connection to the probe element. An electric connector connects the probe element to the electrosurgical generator circuit. The on/off switch may be in the holder element or in a pedal operated switch.

Signal Termination Scheme For High Speed Memory Modules

US Patent:
7843213, Nov 30, 2010
Filed:
May 21, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/469694
Inventors:
Peter Linder - Sugar Land TX, US
Jeffrey Eldon Johnson - Houston TX, US
James Sanford Wallace - Sugar Land TX, US
Assignee:
Nanya Technology Corp. - Kueishan, Tao-Yuan Hsien
International Classification:
H03K 17/16, H03K 19/003
US Classification:
326 30, 326 32, 326 33
Abstract:
A memory device is coupled to a subset of lines of a data input/output (I/O) bus. The memory device includes an on-die active termination circuit for terminating the subset of lines of the data I/O bus with a selected impedance being one of a plurality of selectable impedances; a termination value register being coupled to the on-die active termination circuit for storing a value representing the selected impedance; and a termination value setting circuit being coupled to the termination value register, for setting the value representing the selected impedance in the termination value register.
